How to use

  • The date specified at the time of booking is the intended date of receiving your Exchange Order by mail. In this case, it takes 7 working days (holidays are excluded)
  • Your voucher must be redeemed for physical ticket within 90 days after the voucher's issue date.
  • Unlimited journeys can be accessed, within the validity date, once rail pass is picked up
  • The Exchange Order Voucher along with valid passport must be presented in person at a ticketing booth listed on the website for the redemption of rail pass

Traveler Tips & Useful Information

  • Child ticket: Age 6-11
  • Two children (aged 1-5) occupying no seat are eligible to travel with no charge provided that they are accompanied by an adult with rail pass. However, child rail pass is required for third child onwards
  • Children under 12 months old are allowed to travel for free
  • This pass is only valid for foreigners in Japan with a "Temporary Visitor" status
  • If automated gate is used when entering Japan, your passport will not be applied with a stamp. Please use a manned automated gate or ask a clerk to apply a stamp onto your passport

Cancellation policy

  • For cancellations and amendments: As stated in the official cancellation policy, JR Pass Exchange Exchange Orders (MCO) without a redemption can be claimed for refund and amendments within 11 months from the day of issuance. However, there is a cancellation fee of 10% of the pass price and a post fee for returning the MCO back to TripGu. After the MCO is received, a refund will be issued, by TripGu, to your account as soon as possible. The time and date receiving the refund varies from bank to bank.
  • No refunds will be issued if the voucher are lost, damaged, lost, or already redeemed
  • As a result of local schedule change, service suspension, or other issues in relevant, no refunds or change requests can be made
  • In case of the occurrence of such circumstances, no compensation for accommodation, meals, transportation or other expenses will be provided
